Courage is Strength

Courage: n. “strength in the face of pain or grief.”

All of us are dealing with something in our lives that is painful or difficult, and, because of these struggles, we are discovering who we are. Our struggles and experiences teach us new things and help to define us.

This may be depression, anxiety, an abusive relationship, an illness, losing a job, trying to find a way to pay this month’s rent, etc. Whatever your struggles are, you are not alone. These struggles that we all face is called “life” and we deal with versions of them every day. However, it’s how we deal with these struggles that matter the most.

As Mark Twain once said, “Courage is not the absence of fear; it is acting in spite of it.”

For me, vaginismus is my struggle, and I have to learn how to show strength and courage every day so that I don’t let it defeat me. Depression is constantly trying to bring me down, but I have to learn to rise above that and not let it shackle me.

If you take anything away from this post, it is don’t be so hard on yourself. You were given these struggles because you have the courage to overcome them. ❤
