Here are Ella’s Questions for me:
What’s something you love about yourself?
Hmm…I would have to say my sensitivity. For the longest time, I viewed this as a negative aspect to my personality because society views people who are “too sensitive” as too emotional, irrational or even touchy. However, I’m extremely perceptive, precise, understanding and caring for every living creature. I may be viewed as too emotional to some, but I simply view myself as mindful and highly aware of my surroundings, especially on how my actions affect others 😉
This is probably the most difficult question to answer! Sooo many people have asked me this over the years and, every time, I have no clue what to say. Normally, I pick a genre, but sometimes I just list off different bands. However, a band that has really impacted me over the years, and has helped me to understand my emotions growing up, has been Linkin Park. I was hit hard when Chester Bennington passed away. I don’t think I’m over it even now. They were such a big part of my adolescence, both emotionally and mentally, that this devastation was hard to accept. I can’t stop listening to their newest album, One More Light, because it has so much feeling written into it. I highly recommend it.
What impact do you hope your blog has?
I truly hope that this blog helps women understand that they are not alone with vaginismus. I would love to bring together those who are suffering with vaginismus to talk and share their stories, providing a safe space for support. At some point, I really hope that my blog reaches doctors, psychiatrists, therapists, physical therapists, researchers, etc., so that more work can be done to aid us. I would love awareness about vaginismus to spread, and it would mean the world to me if people began to speak up about this condition and learn that women’s issues, or sexual dysfunctions for that matter, are not taboo. We have the power to change, and remember, you are enough!
